How to use Clipchamp's video recorder for PC?
If you’re wondering how to record video on PC or how to record video on PC that's Windows 10, you’ve come to the right place. We will take you through a guided step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve video recording at home.
Step 1. Start video recorder for PC by logging into Clipchamp
Firstly, you will have to log into your existing Clipchamp account or sign up for free to launch our video recorder. Start recording on your PC windows 10.
Step 2. Create a new project
Select the + Create a Video button at the top right corner. The editor will automatically open. We recommend using a widescreen 16:9 ratio when using video recorder for PC windows 10. Don’t forget to rename your video by typing in the Untitled Video box.
Step 3. Open our record video on PC tab
Click the Record & Create button on the left sidebar. A pull out menu will appear with 3 recording options. Webcam recording, screen recording and text to speech. Click on the first option Webcam recording. The webcam recorder for PC will automatically open. Step 4. How to record video on PC using webcam recording
Our video recorder for PC is extremely user-friendly. To start your webcam recorder, click on the red start recording button. There will be a 3-second count down before the recording commences. The start recording button will double as a stop button when you have finished capturing video content. Simply click the recording button again to stop webcam recorder. 2 options will then appear, Retake recording and Add to project. Remember, your webcam recording also includes audio.
If you are happy with your webcam recording, click Add to project and your video will appear in the My media tab. A drop down menu will also appear giving you the option to save your recording directly to your computer.
Step 5. Drag and drop webcam video onto your timeline
From your My Media tab, drag and drop your webcam recording onto your timeline. You can now edit your recorded video.
Step 6. Add special effects
Add some special effects to your video if you desire. On the left sidebar, you can choose to add Music & SFX, Stock video, Text, Graphics, Filters & transitions and branding to your video. This step is optional. We are going to add an intro to our video. In order to do this, either use a stock video or plain colour background. Click Graphics, then click the + plus symbol to add the background onto the timeline. Crop your background to size, then drag and drop in front of your webcam video. Change the colour under Colour.
Click on Text, then under the intro/outro section drag and drop your preferred title. Personalize your text, add logo, change size and colour.
Step 7. Save and export video
Once you are happy with your video and wish to make no further changes, click on the purple → Export button at the top right corner of the editor. A drop-down menu will appear with saving options. Click on the highest resolution 1080p for the best quality and compression for fast uploading time. Click Continue when finished.
