Uploading videos to YouTube can be a very time-consuming task, but it doesn’t have to be. We’ve already talked about some of the reasons for slow uploads in another post.
Issues such as the quality of your internet connection, the number of devices shared on your wifi network, the age of your equipment, and the level of site traffic can all make uploading videos a frustrating experience.
There are some simple ways you can make sure your videos upload more quickly. These steps will also help when uploading videos to Facebook, Vimeo, and other social sharing platforms.
Compress your video files with Clipchamp
Clipchamp makes uploading a breeze by compressing file size. The smaller the video, the faster it will upload. Our powerful video editing technology can compress your videos without visibly reducing their quality.
You can also use Clipchamp to convert your video files to MP4 or WebM which are both optimal for YouTube processing.
We’ve updated our website to make the compressing process easier for you. Follow this simple guide to start uploading videos to YouTube faster!
Step 1: Go to Clipchamp Utilities
Head over to Clipchamp Utilities where you can easily convert and compress videos. You can also record your video using Clipchamp if you don’t have one ready to go.
Step 2: Sign in with Google, Facebook or Email
You may not see that screen straight away, which just means you haven’t got an account yet. Don’t worry – you can sign up with a few clicks using your Google, Facebook, or email account:
Step 3: Choose a video file to compress
Drag and drop the video file you want to compress into the ‘convert my video’ box or else click the box to select a file from your computer.
Step 4: Optimize your video file for YouTube
Choosing the Optimize For Web setting will compress and convert your video to the settings optimal for uploads to YouTube. You can also adjust the resolution, format and quality further in more detail by clicking ‘Customize Settings’. We do the rest!
Step 5: Upload to YouTube while your video is processing
While your video is still processing you can actually start to upload it to YouTube. Use the ‘Upload and Share’ function and select ‘YouTube’ to start the upload process while the video is getting converted.
Type in the title and description for your video and select the sharing option (private, unlisted or public). The upload to YouTube will start as soon as you’ve linked your YouTube account to Clipchamp.
Once your video is ready, you’ll be notified of how much the file size was reduced:
Step 6: Watch your video on YouTube!
Click ‘Watch Your Video On YouTube’ to take you straight to your channel, and voila! Your video will be ready to go in your account within a few seconds.
See for yourself how we can help you upload videos to YouTube faster.
PS: The steps mentioned in this post also work to upload videos faster to Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo or any other video website. Just shrink your video files with Clipchamp before uploading them.
