How to remove background from video on mobile with Clipchamp iOS app

Here's how you can use the background remover tool to keep your audience engaged, whether you're recording a sales pitch presentation video or just a fun video for Instagram.

Step 1. Log in to Clipchamp iOS app or sign up for free

Download the Clipchamp app on your iPhone. Log in to your existing account or sign up for free.

Step 2. Create a new video

Once you have logged into your Clipchamp account, start removing the background by clicking the + symbol to launch a new video.

There are 3 different background options you can choose from. Click on the Background button on the left side of your screen to open options.

Option 1. Select a color background

First off you have the choice of a solid colour background. This option will be the least distracting background for viewers. If you would like to have a plain colored background, click on Color. Scroll through our color options and select your desired color background. You will now be surrounded by a color of your choice.

Option 2. Select a stock photo

Secondly, instead of a plain colored background, have some fun and choose one of Clipchamp's stock library images.

Select Stock and scroll through a wide variety of stock images like offices, brick walls and the beach. The background remover will work in both landscape and portrait mode.

Option 3. Select personal footage from camera roll

You can also upload personal images from your smartphone camera roll. You can also choose your own footage as your background. Click on Camera Roll and select your desired image from your smartphone. This option is great for small businesses that have a brand kit.

Step 4. Record your video with an awesome background

Hit the red record button to start recording your video with your new background on Clipchamp. You can hit stop as many times as you need to pause for a break and keep recording when you're ready. When you're done hit the check mark to finish and enter the editor where you can make any changes, add captions, text, and more.

Step 5. Save your video to camera roll

When you’re ready to save, click on the Save/Export button at the top right corner of your screen. Once the save is complete, click on the location where you would like your video to be stored. You're done!
