How to create a video with Microsoft Copilot
Step 1. Open Visual Creator and describe video needs
Navigate to Copilot in M365 and select the explore agents tab to find the AI video creation tool. Select Visual Creator built by Microsoft and follow the prompts to set it up.
Note: you may need your organization’s M365 administrator to deploy this agent for the first use. This feature is currently only available to commercial users (Entra ID) with a Copilot license.
Once the Visual Creator agent is available, start creating a video with AI by using a suggested prompt, or by chatting with Copilot to describe your video needs.
You can explain video format or describe the scenes and overall style you envision. Provide context about the video's purpose and audience to ensure the final product aligns with your goals. Submit your prompt using the arrow button.
Step 2. Review the AI-generated video
M365 Copilot will start generating a video clip in the chat window using Clipchamp video editor. AI will generate a script and voiceover, then compile stock footage to compose a video for you. This process may take 30 seconds or more, depending on the length of video you have requested.
Once created, preview the AI-generated video by clicking the in-line play button. Scroll freely to review the different video frames to see if they fit your video needs.
To adjust the video generation, provide feedback in the chat and Visual Creator will create another iteration of your video draft.
Click the open button to personalize your video file further or download the AI-generated video.
Step 4. Edit with Clipchamp for work
The AI-generated video will open in Clipchamp for work, the fast and easy online video editor. The video draft from Visual Creator will be arranged in the timeline, showcasing the individual video assets like stock video, images, voiceover clips, and text.
Personalize videos with brand logos and colors. You can also utilize the recording tools to make screen recordings or change the AI voiceover. Simply click on a video asset to edit or replace it. Learn more about the versatile editing tools in Clipchamp for work.
Step 5. Preview, save, and share video to OneDrive
Review videos using the play button. When you’re ready to save, click on the export button and follow the prompts. Choose a high-quality video resolution, rename the video, and add a video description. Finally, select the OneDrive work folder you’d like to save your video in.
