How to convert video from MOV to MP4

How to convert MOV to MP4 for free 

Step 1. Import your MOV video

To import your MOV video into Clipchamp, click on the import media button in the your media tab on the toolbar. Browse your computer files or connect your OneDrive to find your video.

Step 2. Edit and customize your video 

Change the aspect ratio 

The default aspect ratio for all new videos in Clipchamp is 16:9. To change the aspect ratio, click the 16:9 aspect ratio button. Preset options will appear, showing 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, and 21:9. You can hover your cursor over the aspect ratio presets to see their size on the video preview.

Trim the length of a clip 

Click on your video on the timeline. When it’s highlighted green, move the green handles at either end to trim the video length. If you trim too much footage off either end of your clip, simply drag the green handle back the other way to recover it.

Enhance quality with color correction 

To enhance your colors, click on your video on the timeline, then click on the adjust colors tab on the property panel. Inside the adjust colors tab you can color correct using the brightness, contrast, exposure, temperature, and saturation sliders. Drag the color correction sliders left and right to change the value or intensity.

Add background music 

Click on the content library tab on the toolbar. Next, click on the audio button at the top of the tab, then click on the music option to filter the content library to find music only. Browse different music categories like Clipchamp selects, happy, lo-fi, and more.

Step 3. Export video as an MP4 file 

When you’re ready to convert your MOV to MP4, click on the export button then select your preferred video quality. Video resolutions 420p, 780p, 1080p, and 4K will automatically export in an MP4 video format. Exporting a video as a GIF is the only format that is not MP4.
