It’s time to celebrate! Whether you’re a content creator or business owner, collaborating on Instagram just got a whole lot faster and easier with Instagram’s new Collab feature.

Now Instagram users can co-author Feed posts and Reels in just a few simple taps. With both usernames in the post header, creators and businesses are more discoverable than ever.

Read on to learn more about how to use Instagram’s Collab feature.

Instagram is now testing a new feature, ‘Collab’ and here’s why

The new Instagram Collab feature is changing the way we collaborate with fellow creators. Before the feature was released, many tagged Story posts, captions, Feed posts, and Reels would go unseen by followers. Why? Because users scroll through their newsfeeds and Stories quite quickly. People over the age of 25 spend more than 32 minutes a day on Instagram, with those quick scroll-through checks adding up.

So, with the rollout of Instagram’s Collab feature, content creators are seen to be more discoverable than past traditional tagged Feed posts and Stories.

The username is in prime viewing position in the header, so you’ll never forget to add a Collab tag ever again. The Feed post or Reel will also appear on both users’ profile grids and will have a shared view count, like count, and comment thread.

Your collaborators will appear below the Add Tag and Edit Collaborator tabs. The Collab tag will automatically appear in the middle of your Instagram post. Tap Done to save changes.

Have more questions?

FAQ 1. Does the Collab feature combine likes and comments from two accounts?

Yes. The collaborator can post the video or image on their profile grid and will appear in their followers Feed. Both accounts will view the same comments, likes, and the number of shares.

FAQ 2. Why is the Collab feature not working?

Firstly, make sure the Collab feature is available in your country. If it is, try updating your Instagram app on the App Store or Google Play Store. The feature will not be available to Instagram users who don’t have the latest version.

FAQ 3. Does the Collab feature work for video and image posts?

Yes. Both image posts and video posts have access to the Collab feature. Create beautiful Instagram videos in just a few clicks using Clipchamp online video editor and post them directly to your Instagram account.
