How to record videos in Microsoft Loop

How to record a screen and webcam recording in Loop

Step 1. Navigate to the Loop page

Open the Loop app and select the Loop page you want to add a video to. Type ‘/’ slash on your keyboard to reveal the discover menu. Find and select the record video option to launch the Loop video recording tools.

Step 2. Record screen and webcam

A recording window will launch with options to record your screen or record your screen and webcam simultaneously. If this is your first time using the recording tools, follow the prompts in your browser to enable permissions to access and record your device camera and microphone by clicking the allow button.  

When you’re set up, select your ideal webcam source, microphone, and screen share settings. You can share a tab, window, as well as full screen. Select the start screen recording button to begin recording your demo or tutorial video.

Step 3. Review and edit the video recording

Click the review button to complete and save your Loop video recording.  

Here you can access video editing shortcuts to quickly polish your Microsoft video recording. Select the trim icon to shorten your clip or remove any pauses, or choose the split icon to break your video into two and delete any unwanted sections using the delete clip icon.  

You can also add ambient background music to make your demo video more engaging using the music icon. If you want to continue adding scenes to your video, use the record more icon which is a shortcut to starting another recording to add to your existing video.  

Lastly, if you want to download a copy to your device, use the download icon on the top right corner of the window.

Step 4. Save the recording to Loop

Click on the arrow icon to save and embed the recording. This will add the video to your Loop document. The Microsoft video player will appear, and the video can be watched directly in Loop. The video recording will be saved to your work OneDrive.

If you would like viewers to participate and leave questions or comments on your video, request them to play it back in the Microsoft video player using the watch in Stream button.  

You can also change the video title of your video recording by double clicking to replace the text. Choose the interactivity button if you want to add callouts and clickable links to your video recording.
