1. Facebook Feed Videos

Facebook feed videos‘ are videos that are posted to your profile, which can then show up in your friends or fans news feeds and be shared. These videos get less organic reach and engagement compared to paid ads, but are still necessary. For example, when users search your brand name on Facebook or Google, they will come across your profile which should be filled with content that showcases your business or product, and what better way to quickly get the point across than an engaging video! The users coming to your profile from a direct search are more likely to watch your videos for longer as they are coming with the intention to find out more about you.

      • Video Length Minimum: 1 second

Facebook Feed Video Dimensions

      • Facebook feed videos can be either in Landscape, Portrait or Square.

      • The accepted aspect ratios are 16:9 (widescreen), 1:1 (square) 4:5 (vertical), 2:3 (vertical), or 9:16 (full portrait). Note full portrait videos may be masked to 2:3 (black bars at the top and bottom) on mobile.

      • Recommended ratio in Clipchamp: 1:1 (square) or 16:9 (widescreen).

      • Square videos don’t take up as much room as portrait videos and look nice on both mobile and desktop.

Carousel Videos allow you to showcase up to 10 images or videos within a single ad, each with its own link. You can highlight different products, showcase specific details or tell a story that develops across each carousel card.

      • Minimum number of cards: 2

      • Video maximum file size: 4GB

      • Image maximum file size: 30MB

      • Video length: up to 240 minutes

Collection is a visual and immersive ad format that has one main video followed by several product images. When a user clicks on the video ad they get a full screen shopping experience within the app.

      • Can be either in Landscape, Portrait or Square.

      • The accepted aspect ratios are 16:9 (widescreen), 1:1 (square) 4:5 (vertical), 2:3 (vertical), or 9:16 (full portrait).

      • Note vertical videos may be masked to a ratio of 1:1.

‘Facebook Stories’ are videos are full screen vertical videos that appear at the top of the feed. Ads can appear in between user’s stories.

      • Video Length: 1 to 15 seconds (users can skip /dismiss ads)

      • Video Captions: Not available

      • Video Sound: Optional

Facebook Story Video Format

      • Facebook recommends a minimum of 500p in width and height.

      • Consider leaving roughly 14% (250 pixels) of the top and bottom of the video free from text and logos to avoid covering these key elements with the profile icon or call-to-action. This means, if your video is 1080×1920, ensure key elements appear within a 1080×1420 title-safe area.
