How to screen record on a Windows PC, laptop or tablet
Step 1. Log in to Clipchamp
Can you screen record on Windows? Yes! Head over to Clipchamp and log into your account. If you do not have an existing account, sign up today for free.

Step 2. Create a new video
Click on the purple Create a video button at the top right corner of your screen. The video editor will automatically open. Your Windows screen recording will be in 21:9 aspect ratio.

Step 3. How to screen record on Windows
On the left sidebar, click on the Record & create tab. 4 options will appear. Screen and camera, camera recording, screen recording and text to speech. Click on Screen recording.

Once you have clicked the Screen recording option, a red record button and timer will appear in the bottom left corner of your editor. To start your recording, click on the red record button. You can also check your mic settings next to the red record button.

A pop-up window will appear with screen recording options. You can choose to screen record your ‘Entire screen’, ‘Window’ or ‘Chrome Tab’. We have chosen the Entire screen for the purpose of this tutorial.
Once you’re happy with your screen recording, click on the same red button (now a stop button) to stop your Windows screen recording. The video that you have recorded will appear in a pop-up preview window. If you’re ready to edit your screen recording, click the purple Add to project button. If you would like to retake your Windows screen recording, click the grey Retake recording button. Once you have clicked add to project, your Windows screen recording will now appear in your My media library.

Step 4. Edit your Windows screen recording in Clipchamp
Now it’s time for the fun stuff. Edit by trimming or cropping your Windows screen recording however you would like. You can also add a brand logo, font, motion titles, or transitions to pace your recording out.
Drag and drop your Windows screen recording onto the timeline.

Add your company branding by clicking on Brand on the left sidebar. Drag and drop your company logo onto the timeline. Drag the green sidebars left and right to alter the duration of your logo. You can edit the position, transparency and size using the Transform tab above the video preview.

Add a title to your Windows screen recording. Click on Text on the left sidebar. Drag and drop a title of your choice onto the timeline. Click on the text tab above the video preview to change the text, then click color to change the text color.

Step 5. Save and share your Windows screen recorder video
Record, edit, share! Screen recording on Windows is that easy.
To save your video, click on the purple → Export button at the top right corner of the video editor. Save your video in either 480p, 720p or 1080p. We have chosen 720p and quality compression for easy social media upload.
You can also choose to save your video recording as a GIF. Click Continue when you’re ready to proceed.
