Maintain the right video quality after compression
Clipchamp's unique, proprietary video technology brings you an innovative browser-based compression approach. This allows you to maintain the right video quality, when compressing large video files online. The quality and size of the final output video will depend on the settings you choose (and on the input video). Simply make sure to choose an output setting that matches your purpose. For ex: the Web setting is great for video quality on YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook. And the Mobile setting works best for smaller video sizes that are just right for sharing on mobiles.

Frequently asked questions
How does video compression work?
Video files are stored in various formats and optimised for different platforms and use cases. Raw footage shot in high resolution or a video file stored directly to your hard drive is usually quite large and often needs to be compressed before sharing or posting online on platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram or on mobile devices. This is where tools such as Clipchamp's Video Compressor help reduce file sizes, without losing any quality. To find out how this works, read our support article on How to reduce a video's file size.
How can I compress multiple input video files at once?
Clipchamp's Video Compressor allows you to input multiple video files in your dashboard. Once you do this and click Start, each video file will automatically compress in a queue. Please note that each video file from the batch will compress based on the same output settings and save to your computer or Google Drive (as per your chosen storage location). If you choose Google Drive for the batch processing storage, do remember that you would have to disable extensions such as Ghostery or Adblock Plus. Click here for more about batch video compression.
Will my compressed videos have any watermarks?
Yes, if you are on the Basic Free Plan, your compressed videos will carry a small watermark. To get rid of this, you would need to upgrade to the Utilities Business plan, which allows you to compress video files without a watermark.
For more information, including pricing, see the Utilities pricing page.
Which uploading options for video files are included in the compressor?
You can upload processed videos straight to YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo and Facebook through our direct upload feature. You can also easily save to your computer.
