Windsurfing is a spectacular sight –towering waves, talented athletes, gravity-defying stunts. Out of all sports, windsurfing stands out as a visual content goldmine, perfect for capturing on video. Fans agree – in 2019, video content created by International Windsurfing Tour riders received over 20M views online. With this in mind, our new partnership feels like a winner.
Clipchamp and IWT
We’re excited to announce we’re partnering with the International Windsurfing Tour (IWT) to become their exclusive video editing partner. Our mission? To support IWT to discover, support and crown the most radical wave riders around the world.
Specifically, Clipchamp will be collaborating with IWT on its two flagship events.
The IWT Wave Tour
The IWT Wave Tour is a pro Windsurfing competition, taking part in seven locations around the Asia Pacific, culminating in the Grand Final Aloha Classic in Hawaii.
The IWT Big Wave Challenge
The IWT Big Wave Challenge is an online event celebrating windsurfing content creation and the most radical wave riders globally.
Empowering athletes to create content
IWT is working towards its goal to become ‘the World Surf League of Windsurfing’, and it’s clear video content is a powerful tool to help get them there. More and more, athletes are using social media to connect with fans and build momentum for their sports. In fact, last year IWT’s videos were viewed over 20M times across its Facebook and Instagram accounts.
IWT athletes will be using Clipchamp’s online video editor to easily create video content to share across their online profiles. What kind of content? Sporting stars tend to create a variety of content including vlogs, training videos, event recaps and highlight reels. For athletes on the go, the Clipchamp Mobile app is a great tool to capture (and caption) the action as it happens.
This year, boosted by this partnership, IWT is expecting to build online engagement among its global sports fan base of over 350k followers. Looking to the future, IWT is passionate about encouraging aspiring wave riding fans all over the world.
